"Your virus definitions are out of date", released 12/31/1969

A few minutes ago, I received a popup warning from avast:
“Your virus definitions are out of date. You should update them now.”

Opening the UI and going to updates, it shows I indeed have the current version 17-06-09-4 (plus a subsequent “stream”)… but with release date 12/31/1969. The last update was received a few minutes ago, and checking for a newer update shows there’s nothing newer.

My system clock is showing the correct date & time.

Is this happening to anyone else? I felt sure I’d find several posts in the forum, but mine is apparently the first.

I rebooted, and things seem back to normal.

So it was just a very weird glitch, I guess…

EDIT: I see I received another streaming update after rebooting… so that could have corrected the matter.

Curiously, the same thing happened again today. An ancient “received on” date, which changed back to normal after a reboot.

Since there’s been no comments, I take that to me I’m the only one experiencing this…

Check the date/time in the Bios/UEFI
