My moms computer is running Windows 98 alright and well I have both Avast and ZA Firewall Package running, I needed to check lyrics for a song and tryed the first site on Yahoo well immediatly ZA popped up with a warning that something was trying to redirect the site warning it was a exploit and the virus it was trying to dl was Win32.SillyDI.HQ into the temporary internet files folder although it couldnt delete em at first the option to treat them then delete worked and well it was able to treat both surprisingly and I went ahead and ran both spyware and AV to check and nothing popped up…so is it safe to say with ZA’s help I dodged a bullet?
So your saying that you have avast and ZoneAlarm Antivirus on at the same time?
ZoneAlarm does not delete anything. It’s a firewall, it could block the access to Internet.
avast! could delete it, as it is an antivirus.
Which program alerts you? In which one you ‘deleted’ the file?
my ZA is Zonealarm Pro in otherwords it has
firewall
program control
antivirus
e mail protection
privacy
id lock
im security
web filtering
alerts and logs
ZA’s Antivirus scanning picked it up and was able to treat them
Well, Parachutestx,
we are happy to know that there’s a wonderful program like ZA Pro (yes, we knew it! ;D) but you know that is NOT free… only ( )$59.95 for 1 year.
my ZA is Zonealarm Pro in otherwords it hasZA Pro does not include an AV program. The AV you're referring to is only a monitor of your AV program provided it's an AV program that ZA recognizes and avast! ISN'T one of them.
Bob, if is not a hoax by Zonelabs, I understand that Pro version have an AV integrated in the suite:

I use ZA Pro. It doesn’t come with an AV unless you purchase the Security Suite.

Well… the presentation of this product is not “perfect”… ahahah… it seems different viewing the box on the left side of the window. ???
I thought it quite clear ZA Pro doesn’t have an anti-virus, ZA Security Suite and ZA AntiVirus, do have an AV.
Thanks, DavidR! In my post I said about the security suite version and I showed the price.
Thanks David,
I’m not at my computer so I couldn’t post the picture only the link.
sorry guys I jumped the gun it was Security Suite :
Yes, that was confusing us, as we didn’t believe it could be ZA Pro as it doesn’t have an AV.
So I guess your answer to MFB http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=13471.msg113867#msg113867 would be you are running ZA’s AV and avast together?
If so, running two resident AVs could cause conflict and that conflict may let the next bullet through.
