Zonealarm firewall

l use ZoneAlarm firewall but recently ZoneAlarm is trying to force me to install their security suite, an icon keep popping up evertime l turn my computer on to upgrade from ZoneAlarm firewall to ZoneAlarm security suite. l am not intrested in the security suite l only want the firewall.

All of you ZoneAlarm users is anybody having the same problem and how did you fix it.

new update on the free one…are you using the free version of zonealarm ???
try comodo firewall or pctools plus-the one i use-and both are free & better

Hi Dehayden1, l am using the free ZoneAlarm firewall which l like but the problem am having is that ZoneAlarm attach a security suite in the firewall; evertime l start my computer the icon pops up asking me to install the security suite l do not want the security suite am only interested in the firewall.

don’t use the za firewall so i guess you are stuck with the advertisement in the free firewall…that’s probably what it is ::slight_smile: ???
the comodo and pctools ones don’t have none

There should be a way to turn off that notice. Have you checked with the ZA forum for info about this?

EDIT:

Try this link found on the ZA forum as there is a way to set it to not nag you though this has not worked some … that is, to set it to manual in “Check for updates” section of the user interface. Otherwise, it can be set for 60 days at which point you can reset it again for 60 days each time the pop-up arrives.

I use ZA free & don’t get any such pop up.

Hi Charleyo one can set the upgrade to 60days only once after 60days the pop up does not accept another 60days it just keep popping
up evertime. but i will try to set the upgrade to manual.

Charleyo you are lucky you don’t get the pop up.

drhayden1 you have been a great help, if l cant control the pop through manual setting then l will switch to comodo.

glad i could help somewhat…i use pctools firewall myself-easier to use and comodo asks too many things ::slight_smile: ???
