Zonealarm Pro & Avast! Pro

Hi,

How do I set up my avast to work with zonealarm?
It says that I need to disable the ‘Privacy’ feature in zonealarm, which I have.
Is that all I’ve got to disable?
What about email scanning or doesn’t Avast! have one?

Thanks,

Henry

Hi henryjl, yes I believe that is all you need to disable. You can Left click avast"a" in sys tray and look at web shield resident and see if it is scanning. Yes avast! Has email scanning. If you use outlook express it is scanned by internet mail scanner.

Do I right right click on the ‘A’ icon then click on ‘on-access protection control’ and then avast on scanner comes up then I click on ‘details’ and then it says:
Instant Messaging - Scanned count 0
Internet Mail - Scanned count 0
Network Shield - Scanned count 0
Outlook/Exchange - Scanned count 2
P2P shield - Scanned count 0
Script blocking - Scanned count 0
Standard shield - scanned count 1326
Web Shield - Scanned count 137

Now is that right?
Oh and all the ‘Sensitivity’ is on normal, should I make it higher?

Thanks,

Henry

Hi henry, looks ok.Sensitivity is up to you,I use mine at high.BTW you can disable any of those residents if you don"t need/use them, but then that"s up to you.

Outlook/Exchange - Scanned count 2
Does that mean how much mail it has scanned?
If it is I think it’s wrong  cause I’ve got 200+

It has scanned 2 mails since boot up of computer(hope I’m saying that right)
Have you recieved 200+ or is that how many is in your inbox?

That is how much I have in inbox.
Don’t worry I think I get it now ;D
It has scanned 2 emails since boot up and now I have received about 4 and it says it has scanned 4 so I think that’s right :-\

Yep, henryjl, now you got it. From now on, the email scan count should continue to rise.
