0x8004210A Error when sending & receiving emails

I keep receiving this error when i send and receive emails with microsoft outlook. I have just the the email address up on the computer and it just is not working. I followed some microsft supports with fixes etc but still not working. I deleted the email address and started again and still not working. I have seen from other google stuff it is the anti virus program issue and you may need to change some settings. Does anybody know how i can fix this issue?

I did post this a few weeks ago and tried a few of the responses I got but nothing seems to work.

I only have a avast on the compiter with no firewall. I have tried pausing and stopping avast and some of the various functions and it still happens.

Please help! Thanks Nancy

In your other thread you mentioned something about the only help information seeming to be for Norton.
Are you sure you have never had Norton on the computer? A large number of computers come with Norton pre-installed.

Can you post the full text of the error message ?

The fact that it still happens when you stop avast would appear to be something unconnected to avast.

Personally it would have been better to have used your original topic as a follow up as it has all the information on what others who help suggested, saves us repeating ourselves. http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=41796.0

Sorry I dont use forums much but will note for next time.

Definately no norton on the computer, i found what to do with other programs not just norton just no avast fix. the error when googgling does say it is for the virus program on the computer.

I will copy and paste the whole message in, will be at that computer shortly. Thanks

This is the error message i recevie. Thanks

You could try extending the timeout delay in your email program. I don’t use MS Outlook (only OE) so I have no idea where you can change that. Whilst these timeout errors can relate to AVs (as they scan the inbound or outbound email before actually sending it), this however, isn’t the case with you having disabled avast it continues.

As the error states you should contact your ISP and report these timeout errors. They no doubt will deny it and probably balme your AV, but you have the ammunition to counter that.

Are you using the Outlook/Exchange provider for avast?

If so, then when you start Outlook do you see a “splash screen” for the avast Outlook/Exchange provider?

hi,

excuse me for delay about my respons, me it’s the step “rebboot on safe mode” who save my computer!

ahh, Le Moigne, I think you meant to reply over here. http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=41967.msg352570#msg352570

The above is not pertinent to this thread.
