0xe06d7363 and PC useless after update to AVAST 7...i'm going crazy

This is the first time that I have tried Avast. I just downloaded and installed version 7.0.1426 onto Windows 2000 SP4 and got the same message:

AvastUI.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows.
You will need to restart the program.
An error log is being generated.

So it is not fixed yet. What version fixes this problem ?

Do you have the windows2004 rollup package installed ? http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=18997
