1.11.2245 Permanently de-activate doesn't

Windows 7 Sp1 x64

Avast Internet Security Pro 11.1.2245

After upgrading to AISP 11.1.2245 none of the Active Protection Components remain off permanently when set to do so. Every time a computer is restarted everything is turned back on even though some components are set to de-activate permanently.

I only want to use the File System Shield, Part of the Mail Shield, and the Firewall.

I do not want the Web Shield, DNS server, or Anti Spam

It appears AIS wants to take over my whole computer when I have solutions I prefer and/or AIS crashes things like my email program.

AIS is quickly becoming unusable bloatware.

I also very much resent the links all over the interface to components that are optional but need to be purchased. If I want them I know where to find them. I don’t appreciate the constant advertising in my face. IE… I don’t constantly need a prominent “UPGRADE” button on the title bar @$^&#!!!

Last year I foolishly decided to try PC Tuneup and bought it. I decided it wasn’t worth renewing and assumed it would keep working only not get updates for components I didn’t use anyway, or version updates, like most subscription software does. Not so with PCT - it becomes fully unusable once it expires. Not only that it then constantly pops up messages over working windows on the desktop that it must be renewed. The only way to get rid of the harassment is to uninstall it.

Although I appreciate the portions of AIS that I use, I feel like I am being pushed out the door by all the included crapware being forced on me. I won’t be renewing again but would appreciate resolving the issue mentioned in the title.

I am currently building a new machine including a fresh install of W7 and need to reboot the computer constantly for a week or two while re-installing all my software. Resetting AIS on each reboot to assure that AIS is not responsible for any new problems wears thin very quickly.

Sorry for the rant, any help appreciated.

Webshield is your first line of defence
