Above is my Pc information. I get 100% CPU usage shown when reciving e-mail .I’m unable to use any other program until the in box percent starts out a 0% & reaches 100% in the in box using Incredimail as my e-mail software. I like Avast a Lot but not sure how to remedy this problem

Which process is taking up 100% CPU time?

The avast! scanners do work at high priority to scan and quickly return priority to other programs. I don’t see any noticeable delay in my email scanning with OE and my system is not that different to yours.

Are you using any other AV or security software (or anti-spam) that also scans your email?
