At 5:50pm Pacific, I received the above pop-up.

I haven’t received anything as yet. I don’t run any one demand scans including the Smart Scan, so I don’t know if it is directly related to that.
It was not an ‘advertising-related’ Avast pop-up but, instead, a ‘nudge,’ given the NY, to run a Smart Scan in order to increase system performance.
If possible, I would prefer to opt out of them.
Whilst I didn’t get one of these New Year nudges. Where was it ?
Not being able to see your Avast Notification settings etc. I can’t check my settings compared to yours.

I run Limited Mode. All it does, as far as I can tell, is cut back significantly on the nonsense popups.

As a result, I selected ‘LM.’
Of Course, that was the point of suggesting it, if it wasn’t already selected 
Lets see if it keeps the noise level down on popups.
