I have just updated and the Insert Note still breaks the HTML code in Outlook (2007). Any time-frame as to when this might be addressed or if there is a way to make it work w/o simply not using the feature?
Thanks for the great product and the interaction with the community!
No time frame yet. This is a long standing issue in the Outlook plugin, present for like 2 years (way back to avast 4.8). There’s no easy fix to it, so it seems… :-\
there has been several threads with tens and tens of posts about that from Outlook 2007 users (I’m not one of them), expecting a fix, and you’re saying this now ? I can’t remember that anyone from Avast posted to say it earlier, this would have avoided… oh, never mind : I intuitively advised to people to try deactivating the Outlook plugin, worked for some only. I can’t even tell if there’s the same bug on Outlook 2010 beta as as you know, the plugin doesn’t work on Win/64, so the mail shield and HTML content have no problem here
That’s strange, I’ve been using Avast for a few years now, without any problems.
I use Outlook 2003 on Win XP and, although I always had the ‘Insert note in clean messages’ option selected, the content of the e-mail was always fine, and contained the necessary pictures/graphics.
I have only had this ‘issue’ since upgrading to Avast 5.
I logged it on this forum only a day or so ago http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=55446.0
I have re-tested it and it is definitely that option that’s causing my problem, so what has changed between v4.8 and v5??
Well this now seems fixed in 5.0.462 - thanks! Now is there any possibility to choose whether it is Inserted in Outgoing or Incoming, as was the case in 4.8?
Thanks for your energy and remedy, it is most appreciated!
