5.0 "Virus Database Update" Pop-Up Doesn't Disappear

I’m sure this topic has been discussed before, but after several searches, could not come across anything pertinent.

I just upgraded to 5.0 this week. Before, in 4.x, when he virus database was updated, a blue pop-up displayed for 3-5 seconds, then vanished. Now, with 5.0, a larger green pop-up displays, and I must click on it to get it to disappear.

I discovered the “Gamer” setting, which prevents the pop-up altogether, but is there a way for the database notification to be set to emulate its behavior from 4.x? This is on a Vista machine.

The duration is I believe 30 seconds and it does disappear, you can click the little x to close it.

There is no setting to change the duration and you aren’t the only one to ask.

You could disable the pop-up from the avast Settings, Update, scroll down to Details, click the inverted triangle to expand and uncheck the ‘Show notification box after automatic update’ I don’t know if that would also include the audio notification or just the box.
