95 PUPs...?

`[b]Found by Malwarebytes…!

Does Avast want the list of names?
I’m guessing I am in Passive Mode, but don’t know how I got there. I never imagined Avast would LEAVE me defenseless because I’m using Malwarebytes. I’ve run Norton and Malwarebytes at the same time for 6 to 8 years, with one problem. I don’t remember EVER having more than 4 PUPs, or anything else found on a scan. EVER! I’m very cautious. I know where these pups came from. It was a site that Malwarebytes warned me about, too late… Well, I’m off to see if I can undo “passive”. I suggest it be renames “Worthless”, because if it’s not protecting me…

95 PUPs...?
That may not be entirely correct (unless they have different names) as Malwarebytes will list evry place that file wrote code so it looks like many, other security programs may just list it as one detection

Also avast PUP detection is default off … do you have it ON ?

It certainly isn’t much use stating MBAM has found 95 PUPs without any information at all about what and where these were found.

Further complicated by:

  1. Avast doesn’t scan for PUPs by default, settings would have to be checked.
2 Avast being in passive mode and the potential for having multiple AVs installed.
