A MUST in browser security, who uses this?

Hi malware fighters,

Everyone is convinced that browser security is of the utmost importance to-day, who knows this free program?
http://www.amustsoft.com/1-defender/

polonus

Their website isn’t very up-to-date.
They still talk about vista beta an updating their information as it progresses. ??? ???
I can’t find anything this program does which isn’t already covered by WinPatrol and other programs
like it.

hmm…their user site reviews from mcafee site advisor dont look good, but the guys who made the comments might not know what they are talking about:
http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/amustsoft.com?ref=safe&client_ver=FF_26.5_6256&locale=en-US&premium=false&client_type=FF&aff_id=0

And not to sound like a typical American, but the company is based in Russia. It’s hard for me to trust Russian made programs because Russia is the top country in identity theft in the world. Dr web and securemaker seem to be good russian based security programs, but its still hard to put trust in products from a country which steals more personal information than any other country. I would need more info and reviews before trying this program :-.

For what it is worth, Scandoo gives the site a green check mark.

Actually Winpatrol does a different job compared to this. Unless winpatrol runs the browser with lowered rights?

Still, I agree. I have being known of this app for a while, but it isn’t well maintained.

You can use various dropmyright kinda of products for the same result.

Or use Sudown, use Online armor (with runsafer) ,safespace (which offers to run apps with none-admin rights) etc etc and get the same result.

These class of products (that lower previlages for browsers) is unnecessary for vista, since vista does it already…

WinPatrol does not offer this feature (lowered rights).

This does.

If so, why did you say “I can’t find anything this program does which isn’t already covered by WinPatrol” ?

In any case as i said

"I have being known of this app for a while, but it isn’t well maintained.

I know, i was just being polite, rather than acting as a knowitall…

Ok. Got it.

WinPatrol does not offer this feature (lowered rights).
No it doesn't but it does make you aware of anything new that's going on and you need to give permission in order to continue using these new functions. :)

This statement is so vague that it can apply to any security software. ;D
