A problem with graphics

A problem on a laptop (Lenovo 3000 N200) - some days ago this error began to show when I tried to start any game:

Also, when I’m watching a clip (AVI) the quality is lower than it was before (with same video clip).

I have reinstalled the graphic driver for my laptop, but that didn’t help. Then I installed DirectX and still nothing changed.

What could it be and how to solve it?

Thank you! :slight_smile:

Have you installed the latest BIOS and video updates?

YoKenny is right. :smiley:

Try updating your bios and driver.

Maybe there is support on Lenovo’s website to update the driver and bios. ;D ;D ;D

I updated it and it’s still the same: same error displays and same low quality video. :frowning:

I honestly don’t know if a driver update would make any difference if the graphics chip isn’t Directx9 I don’t see how a software update would change any hardware restriction.

Lets work this in an extreme way, Directx10 graphics cards are out there, but you couldn’t simply run a driver update to make a directx9 graphics card/chip become directx10.

So you need to know what the graphics chip supports, but I would have thought for a reasonably new notebook it should have directx9 support.

See http://www.nvidia.com/page/go_7300.html, which shows it supports directx9, but not what version, perhaps you need an nvidia driver update ?

Run DXDIAG

Here’s my problem (red underline):

And the thing is that it all worked fine a week ago… Is it possible that this is a hardware problem? But then it’s likely that only the part that does 3D stuff is not working. Is that possible? Because otherwise the graphics are fine as always.

Hi…

Did this problem come on all of a sudden out of nowhere or was it a result a specific action or event, like installing or uninstalling software?

May God bless you :slight_smile:

@Bellzemos

So 2D graphics work OK and your hardware is not capable of running 3D graphics.

Have you updated the BIOS to the latest level?
Have you updated the video driver to the latest level?

@ardvark

Not all people here are Christian and this is not a place to discuss religious affiliations!

It came all of a sudden - out of nowhere. That’s the problem.

It seems so, yes.

BIOS and video driver were already the latest version, but I updated the video driver again, just for the kicks, and nothing’s changed. Weird stuff.

Try “Disable Direct 3D”. Go back in and reenable it.

I can’t - it’s greyed out (look at the picture above).

Make sure Hardware Acceleration is on. AGP on (show?X). AGP in Bios.

I don’t understand. Where do I turn this on? Thanx!

In the control panel for your graphics card (manufacturers’). Also try this link.

Sorry. Don’t use link, it’s been changed.

One more suggestion. When updating graphic driver (.dll) always uninstall old driver first.

Hi YoKenny…

I did not “discuss” my Faith with others, I wished the Lord would bless him. My greeting to him. I have the right to express that and the fact I am a Christian!

Best Regards…
