about comodo firewall

i install comodo firewall then i cannt visit any website and even cannt run MSN messger. well when i uninstall it everything is ok. i see many here said avast and comodo runs perfect together. could someone tell me how to slove the proplem? i gonna creazy :cry:

i don’t know what the problem is-i can’t use comodo firewall either-it won’t let me on the internet at all-tryed everything to get it to work-i use pctools firewall plus(free)on my hp laptop(windows)and my quad core desktop(vista)with no problems AT ALL 8)
might want to try it…all you have to do is register it after download ;D

I use ZA,another Firewall.Maybe urs kill or restrict the MSN Program,which you need to switch to ‘Trusted level’.

With me it was just the other way round, had to give up ZA, because after an update ZA would block all my Internet connections unless I set it to medium settings, and I want my firewall full stealth, that is why I changed to COMODO.

and i took off za free because of it installing another program besides the firewall without even asking too ???

Same here, you have to add the applications you want to allow to connect to internet to the allowed list :wink:

Hi drhayden,

What is the particular difference between the pctools fw and the COMODO one. Is it filtering mechanisms (executables versus packets). Why the one is not working for you, maybe you have not included some proggies to the Trusted Applications. When I am on my normal account for surfing, that is a SafeXP one with only normal user rights, I have to give a Trusted Applications status to the BOClean updater, because with file and network sharing disabled, else it will not update. With my ClaWin program installed on a USB stickm COMODO firewall says I have to give it Trusted Appl. status else because it considered it as a hidden (=possibly insecure) program. This because the fw cannot see this drive. So USB means a menace to FW. Why haven’t people secured their flash disks or mem sticks? People are so lax.

The one that's better, is the one that works for you. :) The one that's safer is the one that totally blocks your internet access. It just isn't very practical. ;D

;D Comodo here is working just perfectly. Only thing I had to do is to open one port for utorrent. Not very safe sollution but… the only one I had.

and i tried to have the comodo firewall work for me(my computers)and it didn’t work for me(my computers) :stuck_out_tongue:
the pc firewall plus did work for me(my computers)and is working great for me(my computers) :stuck_out_tongue:

yeah i think i have found the solution, just cancel the tick of PACKET CHECKSUM VERIFICATION in Advanced Attack Detection and Prevention then everythings OK. n~ i can visit website aggin :wink:
