Access problem using Firefox with forum.avast.com

Not infrequently I cannot connect to the Avast Forum. The problem goes away after closing Firefox ESR, present version 75.8, and retrying.

I am presented with the following message by Firefox:-

[b]Secure Connection Failed

An error occurred during a connection to forum.avast.com. PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the web site owners to inform them of this problem.[/b]

I do not see this with any other web site. It seems to be a forum.avast.com speciality.

Hi, that’s a known issue not related to your browser. We’re trying to get it fixed.

The PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR is related to the banning of spammers and whilst that is happening the forum is effectively off-line.

We have been trying to have this fixed for some time, first it has to be determined why this is happening and then find a resolution.

It is really bad today. I have been interupted at least 4 times by this PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR so far, in less than an hour.

Lots of spammers being banned early morning.

Unfortunately it’s only going to get worse, this month alone has seen a dramatic increase in spam…ramping up for the holiday period ::slight_smile:
