Add client to managed

I have installed and am running the server edition on Windows 2000 Server. I then deployed and everything is working except:

  1. The server does not show up as managed. How can I get it to be managed?

  2. We have two XP x64 workstatsions that I put avast pro on several months ago. Can I get those to be managed now that we have the server version and adnm?

I believe you’ll have to reinstall them with the managed versions; the “ordinary” Pro or Server versions are not manageable through ADNM.

Igor is basically right. The word reinstall may suggest uninstallation/reinstallation though - which should NOT be necessary. Simply running the installation of the managed version (either locally or remotely from the AMS) should do the trick and “upgrade” the unmanaged version to managed one.

Thanks guys. I was just going to try installing over the old versions to see if that woud work and it sounds like it will. Thx.
