Just upgraded to Avast for our company. I have installed it so far on 4 desktops and 8 servers. This is my test group. I am noticing that we are having troubles getting the updates to download to the clients. They state waiting forever. Why is this and what can I do to speed it up. I like immediate results when i update manually.
I also have an issue where several of my clients won’t download at all. they set there for 2 hours stating waiting. If i login to the computer and update from there, it tends to work though.
Being as i purchased 1000 licenses, this could be a pain and i really need to make it as useful as possible. The AV software does an awesome job compared to the TrendMicro OfficeScan we currently have been using. The Admin Console really needs to be put in the trash and started over on, along with making it web based.
Does the mirror.exe still running on your Task Manager?
Please make sure if your whole clients appointed to AMS Server Ip Address or server domain, you may check it with click : Start >> Add/Remove Programs >> avast! NetClient/NetServer >> Clicked Uninstall/change >> choose Change
The important things is you should make sure whether your company have a good internet connection
do you mean the client update to your local avast server or ADNM update from internet?
if i assume that you have problem with client update on your local network please check your server have enough memory to run the mirror service.
usually doing manually update from client is very fast but if the state is waiting please check the firewall on the both side (server and client side)
you mean login to your computer client and the update is also fail?
anyway your computer installed with netclient is installed with TrendMicro OfficeScan? if yes please make it sure that the OfficeScan have totally remove from your computer, i have this problem also when doing migrate from officescan to avast!
Please, stop FUDing… Of course avast take their corporate clients seriously.
You’re right to post your opinion and wishes. avast should take them into account.
But start saying this to any other corporate user is not true.
well… if avast DID “like” their corporate users… why is there yet to be any official news on it? the last semi “official” news was that ADNM would be released in 2010 Q3 or something.
I agree and I see a lot people in the forums are asking the same thing. “Originally” the new version was announced to be out around last Sept or so. I have to keep telling my supervisors that I do not know what it going on.
I appreciate that Avast is working on it but they are also making the same mistake other companies make in that they are not communicating enough.
It is always about the communication, it keeps the rumors to a minimum and lets the clients know they are the main concern.
I would rather get an email every couple of weeks letting me know the status of this and what they are doing to get the release out than hear nothing and fill in the blanks with my own ideas.
You should never let the client fill in the blanks, you don’t have control on what they fill it in with.
