Ads by CouponDropDown

I’m inundated with Ads by CouponDropDown on every website I go to. They hijack links from websites and flash and are so annoying. I did a boot scan and found one Trojan and eliminated it. I did a disk clean up as well as getting rid of all my temp files, etc and then did a system restore to the furthest place back and still have this pest. I FTP’d my support package to your Incoming port a few minutes ago. I would sure appreciate any help on this. Thanks

Please attach your logs. (AdwCleaner, MBAM and OTL…!!)

CouponDropDown is a PUP, or potentially unwanted program, that displays pop-ups and advertisements on web pages that you visit. These advertisements will be shown as boxes containing various coupons that are available or as underlined keywords, which when clicked will display an advertisement that states it is brought to you by CouponDropDown. CouponDropDown is an add-on for Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome that is typically installed when you install other free programs. When you install these free programs, they will also install CouponDropDown as well. Some of the programs that are known to bundle CouponDropDown include 1ClickDownload, Yontoo, and FBPhotoZoom.

the first program (AdwCleaner) in the guide asyn gave you, should remove this…
however, there may be additional leftover files that need removal so attach all logs asyn requested

Hey,

AVAST!!! Do something with that!!!

@techlike99,

Once the victim posts (attaches) the requested logs, a certified malware expert will come in and assist the victim in cleansing their system.

@ vozmen,

No antivirus will protect 100%. New malware is created every day with the express purpose of evading detection. If you have the same issue please start your own topic in your own thread, and you will then be helped in the same way this OP will be.

read the cupondroppdown info in my post above
it is not a virus… but classed as PUP = not a virus / Possible Unwanted Program
avast PUP scan is default off… reason most users dont know what it is
it may detect it if you turn it on… be avare that many legit factory installed programs may be detected as PUP bc of what they can do, so you need to know what it is befor you take any action
