"Advast 5"

I saw in another post where “Advast 5” will be out soon.
The initial download for Advast 4.8 as 3 1/2 hours since I am running a dial up connection. ( I am in a very rural area and dial up is the only game going.) Will the download for Advast 5 take the same amount of time? Just curious?
Thanking you ahead in this matter,

First off all before you download it you should know that it AVAST and not advast
Second Yes it’s supposed to be released soon but noone knows exactly when
Lastly yes it will take a buit longer to download but it will take less resources (CPU and RAM) from your computer

Do you use a download manager? I think it is a must have in dial-up connections, allowing restarting paused/interrupted downloads.
There are many free. I suggest http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/

Well I’m on dial-up too (9KM from the exchange), but 31MB would take me in the region of 2 hours, so your connection must be really bad. I get kicked off after two hours, so was concerned with exceeding that even when I use a download manager (Orbit), sometimes it doesn’t pick back up.

So I too had concerns about this and I asked if version 5 would be considerably larger and I was told it shouldn’t be much different to the current version. What changes however, as time passes the VPS virus signatures database gets bigger currently it is over 24.07MB in size and that is what takes up a huge part of the installation file of 31.2MB.

So whilst the program element of avast 5 won’t be much different the VPS will continue to grow over time. So a download manager is an absolute essential application for those of us on dial-up.

Thanks,
I already running the Free Download Manager.
Sorry about “avast” from now on it will be “AVAST”.
I just did not want to be rude and shout during any of my post.
Again I apologize.

Just a simple mis-spelling man, don’t sweat it. I do it all the time.

Same here.

No problem with mis-spelling (in my case it’s because the keys are never where I left them) until you go to ‘advast.com’ and download malware!
Many bad sites rely on mistyped urls.
