Hi,
I just updated my Avast free to the last update (22.8.6030) on windows 8.1 64 bit and since then my POP3 mail checker (Magic Mail Monitor) stopped to work with all different emails and server… the program start but is not able to establish the connections any more. The connections seems blocked some how.
I tried to disable the Mail Shield but, when I do so, the launched application just appear in the icon bar but doesn’t respond at any command (is not possible to open it and I need to kill the app with task manager).
Any help will be really appreciated.
Thank you
Tried a different email checker (POP Peeper), which was also working till yesterday and the result is the same… is not able to check the IMAP also.
– UPDATE –
I tried to disable the Mail Shield again and POP Peeper is now working
today we released a new beta version that should fix all the connection problems. Would you please be so kind and try the beta and check whether you can successfully send/receive mail messages? https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=320992.0
That’s the problem you will be on the beta stream and would get beta updates.
As far as I’m aware the only way to get of the beta stream is to do a clean install of the current regular (non beta) release. This is why I said I don’t think it a good idea to ask users to switch to the beta stream.
Surely this can’t be beyond the collective wit of Avast, the developers, Alpha Testers to investigate/replicate this problem, using the information given in the forums on this, programs and email services effected.
After the recent update SSL email stopped working for Eudora 7.0.1.9 running on Win 11 64 bit.
I have several email providers. One with no encryption works ok. gmail and comcast are blocked. Earthlink works. It uses standard port and Required, STARTTLLS. Gmail and comcast urse Required, Alternate Port.
Forgot one thing in previous message. I downloaded and installed the beta using the link. No change.
The version downloaded was 22.9.6032 (build 22.9.7526.734)
