After upgrading to Windows SP3

I upgraded my Windows XP SP2 to SP3 last week. Since then, my avast not showing any taskbar messages like ‘Vius database updated’ or ‘new version available’ messages. (Previously I used to see these messages in green and blue sliding pop-up boxes in taskbar after I turn on my computer.)

Why is that?

Program settings > Update(Basic) > Both ‘Automatic’ radio buttons are selected.

thanks.

Click the Details button at that settings page and check if the configuration is right.

Details button shows everything enabled/checked except ‘show icon in taskbar tray’.

Update every 240 minutes.

thanks.

Weird uh?
I’m empty to help further… sorry.

Yeah, my XP SP3 machines work fine… maybe try a repair if you haven’t done so already?

An Update:

It is working. I saved the same settings by clicking on ‘OK’ button on both screens instead of just closing the windows. It seems I had to save settings after SP3 upgrade.

Now Avast showing sliding pop-ups with automatic updates.

thanks all of you for your time.

Cool. Glad you got it workin’!
