I just recently installed Avast Internet Security 2015.
How do I enable and use the Sandbox?
All I can find with google and the forums is old posts --none related to my version of Avast.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi karmali
A quickguide, so you can start.
Most important is to Sandbox your browser(s).
But first, if you are using an Administrator account, go to :
Avast - Settings - Tools - Sandbox - Customise - Parameters - Drop administrative rights etc. … and select that.
Now go to :
( Avast - Settings - Tools - Sandbox - Customise - ) Virtualised processes - Add - … and select the executable(s) of your brower(s).
And click : Ok - Ok.
But there is also another way to Sandbox ( your browser(s) ) :
Right click on a Shortcut ( of your browser(s) ) and choose “Run inside sandbox” or “Always run inside sandbox”.
If you ( still ) have questions, feel free to ask. It will only cost you a lolly

Thanks Pondus for your list of resources.
Thanks a ton for your detailed response – just what I needed!-----Red Greetz.
You’re welcome
One thing I would like to add, because it came up in another topic :
Regulary delete your Sandbox contents. You can even scedule it if you like. Go to :
( Avast - Settings - Tools - Sandbox - Customise - ) Webbrowsers - Maintenance - Delete contents.
When the sandbox is still in use, you can not delete the contents. A reboot will solve that.

Hi mchain
Thank you, I forgot to mention that.
But the disadvantage of always deleting the contents of the Sandbox when it closes, is that Avast has to recreate the Sandbox every time when it is needed again.
And that slows things down, especially for browsers that you use frequently.

NP.
You can think of the sandbox as yet another web cache if it is not emptied. It can grow quite large in size. Avast Sandbox does have a setting to manage the sandboxed data size and how often the data is removed, but there are other options, as above.
Rather than managing that issue and/or keeping possible undetected malware or 0-day exploits trapped within, automatic deletion is safer, imo, and keeps the total volume disk size down to less than it would be otherwise.
