AIS Firewall and Free Download Manager

Guys, my problem

  • Status : I am also using CIS and OA, but when it is about firewalls I am complete NOOB ( Don’t laugh ;D ). With the .462 update I am using the AIS firewall with Default Rules on Auto-Decide.

  • Problem : When downloading something with Free Download Manager, the AIS Firewall always (re)creates ( a/the same ) rule for every ( part of the ) download ( See screenshot ).

  • Question : Why does AIS always (re)creates the same rule ??? And what ( custom ) rule would be better to settle ???

Thnx for all your input

Strange, I use Free Download Manager and AIS at auto option for rules. I was never asked again of FDM.
Are you using 3 firewalls at the same time ???

You are asking for trouble, that is three firewalls, CIS, OA and AIS, this is a recipe for disaster. I’m surprised you get anything to work.

No, I am not such a NOOB lol ;D

I never used another firewall than the Windows Firewall and AIS on this system.

Tech, did AIS configured the same rule for FDM with you ???

Btw I checked in the Firewall Settings - Expert Settings : “Show notifications about newly created “allow” rules” ( didn’t had that before ), so that is how I noticed.

This sort of confused both Tech and I, “- Status : I am also using CIS and OA, but when it is about firewalls I am complete NOOB ( Don’t laugh Grin ).”

same here w/FDM: rule recreated at each new download;of course if you don’t check the setting to see a pop up when a new rule is created, you might not be aware of it. This said, I’ve noticed the same behavior with downloads, from both fdm or ff native downloader, and CIS asking for a permission each time, so, not remembering the rule, or not bothering referring to it. Might also depend on what you download and where from…

Thnx for your input boys
