All clients are in Trial Mode and expire in 30 days

After installing the Admin Console and rolling out to clients it shows them in trial mode and about to expire in 30 days. It’s like they are not getting the license file. I have rebooted both workstation and server and still having same issues. Can someone help?

Try to go here if you can find some information to solve your problem

In any case, a new version is coming out soon.
I suggest you to wait and install the new version.

Hi

In the server console you need to run the Network Scan to find the workstations and then run the Setup Wizard to select all the workstations to be associated with the Avast licencing software.

If you have already installed the software to the workstations they should pickup that they are now licenced from the server when you restart the Avast software on the workstation. I say should, but I am having a bit of trouble with some workstations.

I am still working to get a 15 licence install setup. It’s taken me 3 Saturdays so far, and the support from the Avast team is useless.

Hope this helps.

Tony

Could you paste here the screenshot of Admin->Subscription page from the Administration Console? Thx. Jan.

Here is a screenshot. I have been dealing with this problem for 2 weeks and support has not given me any path to a solution.

Here are screenshots from the client:

  1. Check the computer name have been listed on the Default Group or not. if not listed Check the Computer login audit trail.
  2. Ping from the PC Client to PC console, tried with ping host name and IP
  3. From the client setting, change the avast! Administration console Server name to IP address

They are in the Default Group

  1. Ping from the PC Client to PC console, tried with ping host name and IP

I can ping the console using both the hostname and the IP

  1. From the client setting, change the avast! Administration console Server name to IP address

I did this on a few clients and it doesn’t appear to make any difference

Is there a way to confirm that the port 25322 is actually open on the server? If I try to telnet to it from a another pc, I get a connection failed.

I just installed the version of Admin Console that they release last week and it fixed the issue. My guess is that it will solve the issue for the original poster as well.

OK, I’m glad the problem is solved by the newest update. Please let us know if the problem reoccurs. The administration console should always distribute the license to the clients after their successful connection. So if the computer looks green on network page and if you are able to see valid login in Admin->Computer login audit trail, that the client should be always fed with the proper license file. Thx. Jan.

Thanks everyone for helping me out with this. Where can I download the new version?

This is a great tutorial. I wanted to add that at first this did not fix the lag issues I was having. I had to change the resolution using grandr to 1368x768 and then all was good.

I started with a fresh installation of Jaunty and tried JUST changing resolution and that didnt work. I need to do both to make it work for me.
