I have the Alureon-K virus. Ran the Avast scan, but this one remains.
I ran the Malwerbytes scan and the OTL scan (logs attached). aswMBR.exe would not run.
Thanks for your help.

Hi are you missing start menus/files/folders etc… ?
If TDSSKiller does not work do you have the facility to burn a CD ?
Also could you type the following in the run box
diskmgmt.msc
This will open the disc management console
Could you ensure that are drives are in view and then take a screenshot and post it here
Warning This fix is only relevant for this system and no other, using on another computer may cause problems
Be advised that when the fix commences it will shut down all running processes and you may lose the desktop and icons, they will return on reboot
If you have Malwarebytes 1.6 or better installed please disable it for the duration of this run
Run OTL
[*]Under the Custom Scans/Fixes box at the bottom, paste in the following

How long does the OTL Run Fix usually run? It has been going for about 6 hours now. It is hard to tell if it is doing anything. The message line at the bottom of the OTL window says “Killing processes. DO NOT INTERRUPT…”. I don’t mind waiting, but I am just wondering if it is hung up.
Yep it is MBAM again … that is really annoying me now
Please remove this line from the OTL fix and then re-run. It should take no more than one minute

Attached is the screen print from the diskmgmt.msc and the OTL log.
I was not able to run the TDSSKiller.exe. I do have the facility to burn a CD, but I cannot find any blank CDs. I will keep searching, but may have to wait until tomorrow. I know I have some at my office.
What do I do with the CD? I assume I should copy TDSSKiller.exe to it. Then do I reboot with the CD in the reader? I tried copying the file to a USB drive and running from there, but that did not work either.
I found a blank CD. How do I proceed? Thanks.
Nope we will actually delete the partition from outside of windows
I need you to download:
gparted-live-0.10.0-3.iso (115.1 MB)
Create a bootable CD, for Gparted from the ISO image.
You can use ImgBurn do this.
Now boot off of the newly created Gparted CD.
http://img829.imageshack.us/img829/5772/gpartedsplash.th.png
You should be here… Press ENTER
http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/7286/gpartedkeymaps.th.png
By default, “do not touch keymap” is highlighted.
Leave this setting alone and just press ENTER.
http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/9840/gpartedlanguage.th.png
Choose your language and press ENTER. English is default [33]
http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/7958/gpartedgui.th.png
Once again, at this prompt, press ENTER
You will now be taken to the main GUI screen below
http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/1122/gpartedo.th.png
According to your logs, the partition that you want to delete is 1 MB
Click the trash can icon to delete and then click Apply.
You should now be here confirming your actions:
http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/1533/gpartedsteps.th.png
Now you should be here:
http://img696.imageshack.us/img696/8471/gpartedsuccessclose.th.png
http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/7753/gpartedboot.th.png
Is “boot” next to your OS drive?
If “boot” is not next to your OS drive under “Flags”, right-mouse click the OS drive while in Gparted and select Manage Flags
In the menu that pops up, place a checkmark in boot like the picture below:
http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/3483/gpartedmanageflagsboot.th.png
Now double-click the
http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/641/gpartedexit.png
button.
You should receive a small pop up like this:
http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/8986/gpartedexitreboot.png
Choose reboot and then press OK.
Struggling with creating a bootable CD. I’ve been following instructions for doing so using ImgBurn, but not able to get it to work. I burn the CD and it tells me it is successful, but the CD is not a boot disk.
Can you burn the disc on another PC as it looks like the malware is stopping it
I have tried creating the disk on three different PCs. I think it is a problem with me not understanding how to create a bootable disk with the iso file.
Not a problem if you have never done it before
Download both programmes to the computer
Install Imgburn
Run Imgburn
On the first screen select write image to disc
Then locate the Gparted ISO file and select that
Once you have selected it then burn will be available click that
OK, thank you, that worked. However, the infected PC does not boot off the disk. It worked on another computer I tried, but not on the infected computer.
Have you set the first boot device to CD ?
Note : If you do not know how to set your computer to boot from CD follow the steps here
Also do you have the option in the BIOS to set a USB device as first boot ?
That worked! Thank you so much for all of your help and patience!
Did you delete the partition sucessfully and reboot ?
If so could you run an aswMBR scan and post that log please.
Also let me know of any remaining problems
Yes, I did delete the partition successfully and reboot.
I have not noticed any remaining problems.
The aswMBR scan log is attached.
Excellent, any outstanding problems ?
Not that I am aware of. Thank you so much for all of you help!!!
Subject to no further problems
I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems
Now the best part of the day ----- Your log now appears clean
