I Have a 2 year paid “Avast Premium security”, but I am not happy with it because too many problems.
My greatest problem: It is too difficult to signal AVAST problems and to get help.
Today I have at least 2 new AVAST related problems:
when sarting up Avast always starts testing my home network, because linked to “new network”.
smart scan continuously restarts. Always message that Smart scan is running. This is very annoying, but i know no way to stop this.
I recently bought a new. HP PC with Windows 11 version 25H2 build 26200.6725. I have problems with Windows updates. are these somehow related to AVAST?

The Smart Scan in your settings may be set to run periodically.
You can change the Smart Scan settings for this to manual and run it periodically (if you wish). I rarely run a Smart Scan as
From the Avast UI > Menu > Settings > Protection > Smart Scan - Switch it to Run manually

The Firewall and Network Shield work together and If you have a ‘Home network’ not connected to an external system, it shouldn’t be any really issue.
Have a look the Avast UI > Menu > Settings > Protection > Network Inspector and Firewall settings as this may be where all of this activity is coming from.
