Amazing AVAST!

Simply I cannot see AVAST actually scanning my Imap box.
I wonderif this is common or do i need to adjust something in either my Avast programor myemail client.
Which is thunderbird latest version.

Sorry if I happen to be asking a question that may have been answered somewhere else.
