Is this really a virus
At the moment it is in the virus chest
Help and advice would be appreciated
Regards
Can you extract it from Chest to a safe place in the avast exclusion folders and send it to www.virustotal.com to check if it is really an infected file?
Thanks for your assistance.
I have submitted it.

No, you’re submitting from avast Chest (quarantine) and has nothing to do with Virustotal.

Sorry. This is beyond me at the moment.
It is going to take me some time to know what i am doing.
Thanks again for you assistance
You’re welcome. Feel free to come back any time you need help or just to change experiences 8)
I’m much obliged to you.
I did that, as amcap.exe came up in the scan result for me. Only avast and McAfee report it as any kind of problem. This file is a component of Windows 98 (that I still have on another partition) and has survived many scans with several programs over the years. This would be a false positive. I also submitted it as such to the avast virus lab.
