Android Phone Blocked. Help needed

Hello everybody and thanks for reading and helping out on this one.

I have a chineese android 4.0 phone with avast antitheft and screen pattern password setup. Some time ago the orientation sensor just stopped working so I installed an app that manually turned the screen whenever needed. The screen password kicked in with the screen in landscape mode and the dot matrix doesn’t appear completely, the lower row is missing. Now I’m locked out and I can only receive incoming calls.

I’ve got to a point where the screen password has given me the message of “too many attempts”
I’ve tried to put my gmail user name and password, but it doesn’t work.
I’ve tried a factory reset but the avast anti theft doesn’t let me do it (thats what I’m guessing).
Is there any way to do a factory reset in this type of situation?

Help!!

Thanks anyway

Hello,

please google for

“ hardreset recovery”

a hardreset from within the recovery system should always work.

have a nice day!

Ok. Perfect, I’ve gained control of the phone again!

I was trying the wrong combination of keys (I was using + . The menu that appeared with this combination had a factory reset option, but it didn’t seem to work)

I found on the net what you suggested and it was + that did the job.

I accessed the " clear eMMC" and it did the reset.

Thanks Werner for the help!!
