from time to time I get a message from an Annoying Chrome-Messenger. There is nothing installed from Chrome, browser is Opera, Mailer is Thunderbird.

And why do you think this has anything to do with avast ?
A script on this is possibly busy. You can now stop or continue, or wait to see if the script is finished.
Something along those lines. Long time since I did German!

@Eddy - there is some Chrome stuff on my computer. I never installed/used Chrome, but this parts may come from Mozilla software.
And I heard that this kind of messages may depend from timeouts during online traffic. Can be caused by the virus scanner.
There are several Chrome-related files in the Avast folders. Even the logo as a png. Didn’t Avast use Chrome for part of the UI?
Both Firefox and Thunderbird also have similar files in their folders.
