Now replaced by version 6.0.1086. Please see here for details: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=76349.0

Hi everyone,

we will soon be releasing a new program update of avast. And as usual, we’re making it available for public testing a few days before the official release.
Edit: now updated to build 6.0.1044.

This is hopefully going to be a smooth service release, designed really just to fix some of the issues of the original v6.0.1000 build.

Here’s the list of the most important changes:

 • solved an incompatibility with ZoneAlarm (WinXP)
 • improved installation of the WebRep plugins (especially Firefox)
 • solved a crash condition in the avast sandbox
 • setup programs now smaller by ~20%
 • Community features and the Welcome screen can now be turned on/off directly from program settings
 • solved an incompatibility with Outpost firewall
 • solved a bug related to the AutoSandbox offer (WinXP)
 • gadget can now be removed by simply closing it
 • new setup icons

New in v6.0.1027:

 • attempt to fix new compatibility problems with GameGuard and sXe rootkits
 • SafeZone improvements
 • localization updates (including WebRep)
 • improved sandbox logging)
 • SafeZone is now a standalone setup package (can be installed/uninstalled separately)

New in v6.0.1035:

 • solved Firefox WebRep plugin on non-English Windows
 • solved a few incompatibility problems in BehavShield (e.g. TeraCopy)
 • improvements in password processing
 • improvements in the program uninstaller
 • sandbox improvements
 • fixed various UI issues introduced in the previous pre-release build

And new in v6.0.1044:

 • solved a memory leak in the avast gadget
 • solved a few things in WebRep
 • autosandbox-related fixes
 • WinXP: File System Shield not doing repetitive scans anymore
 • improvements in SafeZone isolation
 • improvements in the avast! sandbox (better TDL shielding etc)
 • localization updates

You can either install from scratch, or over an existing installation of avast (any version). Users of the previous pre-release builds (6.0.1021, 6.0.1027, 6.0.1035) can also use the built-in program updater.

Thanks
Vlk

Just updated via GUI. Let’s see, how it works…

DJBone

Installed. Need to boot

Also.

Danke dir…!!

I just updated from version 6.0.1035 Free to version 6.0.1044 Free. The previous version was working well on my Windows 7 (X86) system. The new version installed and appears to be working. Interestingly, Avast did not alert my to the new program update. I set the program to alert me when a new version is available.

Nice, updated to the latest version everything is running smooth as can be. ;D

Updated via GUI, everything seems great so far ;D Thanks guys

I have just updated everything is running fine.

I just installed this new beta version from Avast GUI and everything seems fine here, scan is fast and resources are ok in my Windows 7 PC.

I will installed that in my XP home edition Pc and report back. rm

Hi

Will you fix problems between Sunblet Counterspy drivers and Avast Internet Security sandbox? I always get BSOD when I open internet browser in sandbox mode.

Thank you.

Bye. Lep dan

Done!(via GUI) Even better then 1035, ;D
Solved icon spinning (when SpeedFan running)
Good stuff 8)

Just updated from 6.0.1035 UI just about to reboot on both systems (XP Pro and win7x86.

Even in this build?

Updated from Avast 6.0.1035 without problem. Rebooted at prompt and did a Quick scan. All seems fine.

Updated via GUI in My XP SP3 Home Edition Computer and everthing is working good here… I don’t see any problems here…

Update using GUI worked fine.

However there were three apparent issues with 6.0.1035 one of which remains and the other two I am not sure about.

The issue that remains is.

I uninstalled the Safe Zone because of one of the apparent three issues with 6.0.1035 that I noticed had to do with exiting Safe Zone and the computer display. When I exited Safe Zone my Monitor became dimmed. See signature for my grahics/display chip. So I uninstalled Safe Zone by uninstalling the Gadget and then rerunning the 6.0.1035 installer with “Safe Zone” option “x’d” out. That appeared to uninstall Safe Zone. However, when I went reinstall Safe Zone using both the 6.0.1035 and 6.0.1044 installers I got an error message and Safe Zone did not appear to reinstall.

So at this point it appears that I need to uninstall AIS and then reinstall AIS with the Safe Zone checked, which is the default, in order to get Safe Zone operational again.

It would be tremendously helpful if there was a way to uninstall AIS and retain the settings during an uninstall. I did not try a “moderate” uninstall with Revo Uninstaller to see if this would retain the settings because like I said I really don’t want to risk that I will have to configure my settings again after uninstalling and reinstalling.

Anyone have any suggestions, other than doing an uninstall and reinstall which I don’t want to do, because like I said above I don’t want to have to configure all my AIS settings again.

Still have trouble with autosandbox not releasing the drive…

Win Vista 32 bit avast free

Thnx Vlk,

Updated via the GUI, and so far so good

Greetz, Red.

Updated using the built-in updater and everything seems to be running just fine.

Thanks!
