Hey Susz !
Super Antispyware, Windows Defender(it’s already installed and turned on by default in Vista), Spyware Terminator, Spybot(the new one), Ad-aware(the new one), Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware, AVG Anti-malware etc. All of these work on Vista.
I suggest the same except Ad-aware(the new one) and AVG Anti-malware.
I add SuperAntispyware to that list.
For resident protection, you could keep only SpywareTerminator or even just keep the on-demand scanning of the others.
Thanks both…knew I could rely on you
No problem Susz !
My own recipe is to keep Windows Defender enabled for resident protection, Windows Advanced Care and SpywareBlaster for immunization and SUPERAntispyware for scanning. That is enough for me.
EDIT: Maybe i should mention i use PCTools Firewall aswell, not really a fan of it but it does the job and it was in my personal experience the only firewall which worked really well on Vista, no problems whatsoever. I’m not changing it until alwil release their own firewall.
;D
Sounds good to me, did look for spywareblaster as I have in on my xp machines, but the link I found didn’t say it was ok for vista, have same trouble with adaware
Fully agree.
Actually, the latest version of Javacool’s SpywareBlaster (4.0) now works with Vista.
I recommend installing it. It works effortlessly to provide passive protection.
–Note: 4.0 does not have Firefox 3.0 compatibility yet. I suggest waiting for 4.1 if that’s the case, or hold on to previous versions (good idea anyway for add-on compatibility).
Thank you Happy-Dude will go look again
