I have downloaded the free edition of Avast and it states I have no viruses, however I keep getting pop ups for antivirus 7. The pop up has a blue and yellow shield that looks like Microsoft and it states I have several Trojans and for me to click to rid my computer. If I click it asks for $49.95 which I have not given.
Also, each time I try to navigate to a new site I get a full screen pop up stating the site I’m about to visit might be harmful to my computer. It gives me two scenario’s, continue to site and the second site again sends me to the $49.95 page.
Finally the virus is only affecting my side, not the guest side. Antivirus 7 is not showing in my add/remove programs.
Does anyone know how to remove this.
Thank you,
Daniel
This is scam/scum/rogueware, showing fake alerts to extort money. Don’t even visit the site or you really could get infected.
If you haven’t already got this software (freeware), download, install, update and run it and report the findings (it should product a log file).
