Antivirus Engine Service taking up too much memory.

Hi.

I’ve started to notice that since the last update rolled, my computer started to have memory issues. And I’ve tracked it down to an avast proccess named “aswengsrv.exe” taking up drom 200mb to 300mb of RAM.

Now, I suppose this is not normal. In that case, what can I do to fix this memory leak?

Windows 10 1803, comp 17134.648, 32 bits.

Repair Avast:

  1. Avast GUI → Settings → Troubleshooting
  2. Click on ‘REPAIR APP’.
  3. Follow instructions.
  4. Reboot.

Whilst this doesn’t seem to be a lot, it is certainly larger than normal.

I would suggest that you follow the other topic that you have contributed to, https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=226842.0 as it has been acknowledged by an Avast Team member and forwarded to dev team for analysis.
