I registered for Premium license today because of the extra features. Now I tried to protect my apps from being accessed without the pin code I set. I selected several apps but not one of them is asking for a pin code on access. App protecting is turned on and a pin code is set. It worked for me in the free version for 2 apps. Now that I have Premium it is not working at all
I did not use a time schedule. Does anyone know what is going on ? Using a Galaxy S4, latets Android available
Hi,
that’s weird. As I explained elsewhere, we ask for PIN only once per session (which can be usually defined by screen turning on and off) so if you enter the correct PIN once, we assume you would enter it correctly everytime we’d ask in that session and therefore don’t ask again. If you turn the screen off, then on, do we ask you for the PIN once? If not, does it work after device reboot?

Hello Filip,
thanks for the response. Screen off / on works only for a few applications and not for all. My bank app for example cannot be locked with pin, also device settings refuse to work. 2 important apps i think, settings was also recommended in Avast itself. I rebooted device twice already.
Hi,
so if you turn the screen off / on then immediately try to access your bank app, you are not asked for PIN?
Filip
Hello,
thanks again for response, I think I understand how it’s working now. I assumed it was a PIN once per application, but that is not the case, it is a PIN per session for all applications. I didn’t see it because I randomly started applications that are protected with PIN. So it happened that certain applications did not ask for a PIN because I entered it in an earlier used app. So at a certain point the first thing you do is start the Avast app, entering the PIN code and check the settings. Of course, after this it will not ask for the PIN anymore.
Thank you for response again, I didn’t understand how it works :-[
Hi,
that’s fine. Glad it’s working I know it’s a bit confusing at first (that it doesn’t ask for your PIN all the time), but if you think about it, you will realize it’s pretty clever (since if you know the PIN once, you know it after few minutes as well and we assume that during one screen on/off session you are one person so we don’t bother you with constant PIN requests).
