Application firewalls for use with hardware firewalls or windows firewall. These will block outgoing traffic, Windows firewall sp2 will block incoming traffic. Used together this is a low system hogging way of protecting yourself on the net.
Also, Sygate and Kerio out of the box will function as Application based with a Rule Base option. Same for Agnitum.

This is basically a filter not an Application base firewall…More anti-spyware/anti-trojan than a pure FW.

I doubt it can do that, there are more and more everyday.
Have you read their program Specs or Features as to how the hope to achieve this? If not, your doubt would then be as doubtful as you say their claim is.
Jammer is made by the same people who produced the Outpost Firewall, which is very good, so I would think that they are doing. The program uses three different approaches to protection, just one of the three is stopping unauthorised registry creation/modification/deletion. That combined with the other two should provide excellent protection.
Yes we all know nothing in life is 100%, we don’t know what is coming tomorrow, but I think you can be sure development will continue to ensure that the claim is protected also.
Yes, there are more and more every day - If you protect against methods of attack rather than individual attackers, this is less of a moving target and theoretically could block unknown attackers, which use a regular method of infection, etc.

They are not trying to target every different variant malware/spyware/attack, etc. (the millions you talk of, slight exageration I think) but the method of infection, I’m sure that you understand that there will be less methods than individual attacks.
I don’t see how if you don’t read the facts how you can reasonably comment on it. It would be like trying to write a review on a product you have never used, just going on gut feelings.
I did read your comments, but as it was quite “long” i got a litte confused (sometimes happens with me), i think i understand you now, but still i don’t feel it is 100% effective, but still, knew methods can always be developed, but still a good program.
