I downloaded Avast! Internet Security 7 for my laptop yesterday, the paid version. My OS is Windows Vista 32 bit. I ran a custom scan, it was a very thorough scan: all hard drives, all memory, rootkits (full scan). The scan completed and the Scan Results Window opened saying “some files could not be scannned” (because they are password protected) and to “select the action for each file to be taken”. But I’m not able to “select” files, when I click on any one of the files in the Scan Results window, nothing happens. The same is true for the “Apply” button at the bottom center of the scan results window, it does not highlight or do anything when I click on it. Although I do not have a known virus per se to “move to chest”…I am quite concerned that the last 15 files of the bottom half of the files in scan results could contain a potential problem. I am very upset and disturbed that the “Apply” button doesn’t work! This is inexcusable and totally unacceptable! I paid for the professional security suite program and I expect something this fundamentally critical to cleaning potential malware from my system to work properly!
I used snipping tool to take a jpeg partial screen shot (screen shot of full scan results window too large to post) of the Scan Results Window. There are two categories of files that were not scanned. One is Super Anti-Spyware program Quarantine files, the other category is Windows system32 config etc. containing 15 files which you can see on the screen shot. I’m very worried about these files. I don’t know if there’s a virus in them. I don’t know what specific action to take regarding any of these last 15 files and I again…I am NOT ABLE TO TAKE ACTION because the APPLY Button is NOT WORKING when I click on it as NOTHING HAPPENS.
PLEASE HELP ASAP!!! THANK YOU!
