APS > Sensitive Data Shield > changes my file access permissions to each of my own Ms Office files (mostly Word).
Every attempt to open my files reports that I don’t have permission, and to contact my administrator. (Me!)
Elsewhere Igor0(Employee) denies this (similar problem reported by ‘Bob’) is possible, but it does only happen after I allow the APS-Privacy-SDS to ‘scan’ those hundreds of listed .doc, .docx .pdf, .odt, files.
I have been forced to turn SDS off (forcing a constant ‘red label’ warnings) & rebuild** of those files I accidentally allowed APS ‘fix’. That setting avoids this constant problem with Avast SDS, but presumably leaves me vulnerable to whatever SDS is supposed to prevent.
** I was able to save some of the files stupidly ‘Protected from me’, by importing them to .odt, using Open-Office and back to, Word, but losing much of the critical formatting and structured data!
PS: The ‘Topic category’ above allows “APS”, but prevents any ‘tag’ mention of “Sensitive Data Shield”, or even ‘Privacy’ !?!
PPS: Double asterisk in this text /community.avast.com/ entry ‘box’ forces some nearby text to ‘bold’ format.
