How do I fix this annoying crap?
Use the - Reporting Possible False Positive File or Website - https://www.avast.com/false-positive-file-form.php form. This goes directly to the Avast Virus labs.
I have no problem accessing HBOmax.com (other than not being in the USA) you don’t give any details of the alert URL, etc.
A screenshot of the alert window including the expanded More Details section would help.
I had the same thing. Msg said something about chrome and something called blacklist. Didn’t think to take a screenie.
Solution - opened up hbo max w/firefox instead. No problem. Its something chrome specific whatever it is.
The only thing I can find says:
Threat Blocked
We’ve safely aborted connection on
play.hbomax.com because it was infected with
URL:Blacklist.
macOS 10.15.7 (19H15)
Chrome Version 87.0.4280.141 (Official Build) (x86_64)
Screenshot attached, doesn’t prevent from using the site just annoying.
Submitted to false positive page as well, just wanted to share the screenshot.
Report it using the false positive link I gave earlier, in the meantime I have tried to draw some attention to this topic.
Hello,
the detection will be fixed in next update (~5 mins).

Ensure you update the Virus Definitions, do a manual update from the Avast Tray icon (Right click and select), it should now be included.
Mine’s working now.
Thanks!
Thanks for the confirmation.
