Archive.org book is being falgged regardless of exception

getting really angry at this antivirus with all the false positives & suspicious blacklists

archive.org is a safe site i use it all the time. how can i get it to stop or im gonna uninstall this garbage.

I know there’s a court case involving the wayback machine. bunch of nonsense if you ask me. But ok ill report the false negatives. thank you, i just found it weird that it would be blacklisted at the same time as said court case.

Avast Online Security does not block it, but be aware of
“This week, an appellate court ruled in favour of major corporations, removing access to over 500,000 books.
But we will continue to defend the rights of all libraries.”.

Big companies like FREEMIUM solutions, but only when data will be profitable. i.m.h.o.

P.M. Both the legal landscape affecting libraries and the technical challenges surrounding web security are complex but crucial areas of concern. By advocating for equitable access to information and implementing best practices in web development and security, you can contribute positively to both fields. (source = comment by deepai)

First I don’t work for Avast, but an Avast User trying to help other Avast Users.
You said that it was archive.org not a sub section of it and that is what I checked out.

The details sections (as I suggested) might have provided more information.

See this check - https://sitecheck.sucuri.net/results/archive.org - Warning: Malware Detected

You can of course report it as a - Possible False Positive - New location to report both a False Positive and or a False Negative (for File or URL) - https://www.avast.com/submit-a-sample#pc - you would however have to be very detailed about the full url of the detection and not just the domain name.

Here’s the screenshot

Some more details might help I have just visited the site and no Avast alert

If you had an Avast Alert please attach a screenshot of it with the Details option selected.
