Are these legitimate pop-ups from Avast?

In the last few days I have been receiving pop-ups that seem to be from Avast. They say “We have identified the following browser add-on which has a bad reputation among Avast users.” There is a prompt to remove the bad add-on. I have run scans but nothing shows, yet the warning still appears. Of course I would like to accept, but as I have never seen this before I am concerned. What should I do?

yes … and there are several posts about it here

This is Bull$t. This popup is unwanted. I do NOT have this software loaded. Also if you try to run, it want to load Yahoo has your search engine. It doesn’t allow you to run this feature without accepting the Yahoo search. This is CRAP!!!

As we have posted several times around this forum, any avast module you dont want can be removed…

Speeddial is a hidden addon in all browsers and is not something you want

Yep there is a problem with the reset of main search provider but that is being worked on
