Has Avast Premium Security ever issued a false positive alert for a ARP Spoofing Threat? If so, is there a way to know it’s false?
Avast said it blocked the network, but it still shows up in the list of nearby networks. Why? What do I need to do to remove it from the list?
Background
A few days ago, when trying to sett up a new router to replace an outdated one, I noticed network name was not the same as the previous one, so I had to search for it. Once I found it, I went to connect and as soon as I did, an Avast popup appeared, identifying the new network as an APR (Address Resolution Protocols) spoofing threat. At that point I disconnected immediately. When my partner went to connect, he received the same alert and disconnected. The new router isn’t set up yet, so I’m still using the previous network. Last night, when the signal dropped, the laptop went to connect with the new one, setting off the same alert. I disconnected and made sure the “connect automatically” wasn’t selected. Avast also said it blocked the network, but it still shows up in the list of nearby networks.
