i’m runnimg win xp pro with a remote connection/ everytime I boot ashmaisv.exe error pops up
to send an error report.
reinstalled twice still the same

What is the error report that pops-up, sorry my crystal ball is down ;D

Have you got another AV installed, which one?
Did you have another AV installed, which one and how did you get rid of it?

to remove went start, add remove programs…

Have you got another (or had) Anti-Virus installed, which one?

i use a remote conenection to get on the internet

this is the only anti virus i am using

ok it sais that ashmaisv.exe needs to close it has encountered an error
then i have the option to send the error repot

the details of the error repot start with c:\docume~1\T_Trey…

Could this be to do with the proxy mail settings in 98 ? Have you tried to run the mail wizard ? Have you tried a repair of Avast ?

Essex, the user is running Windows XP.
Unless he give us more info, it will be impossible to help him. Firewall, email program, screenshot of the error message…
