Okay… I just submitted a malware sample and I, now, grope in the dark. I have no idea of whether it was added to the database or not.
I suggest that the virus lab, via email, report back their assessment of whether the submitted file(s) are added to the database or not. In the first place, we type in our e-mail address in the malware submission dialog box so I believe this is very possible.
avast should have auto answer, with its under process.
and when its done its other mail say if it was infected. or not.
yeah the only way to find out is unfortunately to test the piece of malware in a sandbox with Avast. But I agree, there’s a box to indicate your email address when submitting, so Avast should definitely notify you when they’re done with it.
They should use a similar sytem to the one Avira is using…where you see the result
