Hello!
Today my computer just turned off out of a sudden and when trying to reboot I see a blue screen or ist just tries to reboot again and again.
I use a Acer Asprire 3820TG with a intel i3 processor and a Radeon HD 6370M graphics board. WIN 7. 4GB ram.
I use Avast for protection.
When trying to boot into safe-mode, the file aswRvrt.sys is the last one loaded, then the computer crashes.
None of the recovery or test-options in the boot-menu work, not even “last known working version”.
Instead I tried to boot Ubuntu from a stick. Even this one doesnt boot. The error-message is that the processor was to hot, while the computer actually is cold.
Neither do any of the check-tools provided in the ubuntu boot-menu work.
It looks like there is no way of accessing the computer.
I saw that some people had a similar problem (eg calcuttaman) and had been helped. I would be sooo happy if someone could even help me with this! Thank you, soo much! Andre
Hello!
Thanks for your fast reply, and sorry for my late one. I was traveling.
Now back home and copied the OTLPE image to a usb stick (using rufus).
The computer starts booting from the stick, but even this booting processes crashes after a few seconds.
“Files being loaded…” then it just turns off, or I see a blue screen.
I tried Ubuntu from another stick also, this only booted half way.
I really do not have a clue of how to proceed.
Anyone who has an idea?
WOuld be grateful for any suggestions.
Thanks for your answer!
It might not be the CPU.
I copied another Linux version, called Knoppix, on a bootable stick and removed the hard drive before trying to boot.
It worked!
Knoppix was running fine and I could use the computer.
Then I turned the computer off. Put the hard-drive back in place and tried to boot again from the stick (Bios first boot option:usb).
It would result like the other tries booting OPLT or Ubuntu from USB: The Knoppix system initiates booting, but turns of after a few seconds.
Then I removed the hard drive again, tried to boot again from the USB, but even now the boot would stop after a few seconds.
Do you think it is possible that the harddrive transmits a malware direct on any stick plugged in, in order to make it unbootable?
Afraid to plugin the stick in my other linux computer now, in order to see if there is any malware on it to be found.
I might even destroy this backup computer.
Any ideas? I have never come across anything like this.
I would highly appreciate any leads
