aswSP.sys BSOD when starting to debug minidump

Hi, I was updated to the latest avast free, and if I started to debug a minidump file with Visual Studio 2008, aswSP.sys would bluescreen the machine. I could click the .dmp and it would load into vs2008, but if I hit F10 to step to start debugging the minidump, the machine would go down. I tried disabling things, but I had to completely uninstall avast to get it to stop bluescreening. I used to be able to do this, so something has changed in the past month or so, I think, I can’t remember exactly when the last time I debugged this way.

This is on Vista 64. I’m also having trouble getting crash dumps to generate from bluescreens on this machine, so I can’t upload one, sorry about that, but here’s the stop info:

(50, …FD3c7ccd0, 0, …FA6007AAEC49, 2)

I’ve uninstalled avast and installed antivir, but if there’s a workaround for this then I’d consider reinstalling.

Thanks,
Chris

please upload the minidump or kernel dump of this Avast related BSOD to ftp.avast.com/incoming
use unique filename

The minidumps are obviously stored in %SystemRoot%\Minidump. You possibly need administrator rights to get there. Pack it and upload it to our ftp (ftp.avast.com/incoming). If you still cant upload it, tell me the version of avast.
Thanks.

Hi, like I said above, my machine is not currently generating minidumps or kernel dumps on bluescreens. That’s a completely different problem, and that I haven’t been able to resolve yet (yes, I’ve tried AlwaysKeepMemoryDump, etc.).

The version is whatever the latest version would be from autoupdating avast, as of yesterday, the day I posted. I already uninstalled it because I needed to be able to debug a minidump, so I can’t check directly.
