I have had this problem before and did solve it but now can’t remember how - can anyone help?
When I open an e-mail attachment all I get is a page of symbols.

What is the extension of the attached file you’re trying to see?
Do you mean you’ve saved the file to your disk and cannot opened it correctly (just symbols) or you’re trying to view this file in Notepad?
