I got a pop up saying Attention: Your computer is sluggish and running slowly what could I do to fix this without buying avast?

Disable the smart scan so you wont see again and use CCleaner to clean up your system and to view unnecessary startups.

settings/general scroll down to smartscan and disable.

Two options :

  • Open the Avast! user interface, and go to : Settings - General - Smart Scan - Grimefighter - Off.

  • Or deinstall Grimefighter :

  1. Start - Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs - Avast! - Change.
  2. Change.
  3. Uncheck Grimefighter.
  4. Continue.
  5. Reboot.
