Auto Update

I have 11.1.2241 but it doesn’t auto update the virus definitions version when I start my computer in the morning. The setting is set to auto update.

Perform a repair of avast and see if that solves it.

Since updating this machine to Win 10 I’ve found that Avast defs don’t immediately update following a cold start but does after a restart, I have a space laptop running Win 10 and I’ve observed the same thing on that. Cold startup is much faster than from restart so perhaps that might be the cause, others might know. I don’t think it’s a fault or anything to worry about, you can update manually from the GUI.

A repair didn’t work and this is a clean install. The auto update is still broken. Avast worked on windows 7 but not on windows 10.

avast sure does work on Windows 10.
But you are using a old(er) version of avast.
Install the latest one : https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=179656.0

does not auto update on win 10 fast start. must use reboot.

You should not have to reboot for it to auto update.

Windows fast start is skipping things that could make the auto update not to work.

I really like using Windows fast start but when I do avast does not auto update my virus defs. Is there any way I can use Windows fast start and still be able to auto update my virus defs?
